A movie poster for Naomi Watts' movie Diana has been posted at the entrance to the Paris tunnel where Princess Diana died in a car crash in 1997, sparking outrage among fans of the late royal.
A sign featuring Watts dressed as Diana can be seen by the Pont de l'Alma tunnel, just feet away from the gold Flame of Liberty statue which has become known as an unofficial memorial to Prince William and Prince Harry's mother, who died in the underground passageway at age 36.
Rosa Monckton, who was a friend of Diana, told the Daily Mail, "I really don't have any words to describe how I feel about this cynical and shameless attempt to publicize a film that should never have been made. To have made a film so speculative and as this is disgusting enough, but to then advertise it on the spot at which she died is despicable."Diana's untimely death happened in August 1997 while she and her lover Dodi al Fayed were being driven through the Parisian tunnel while being chased by hoards of paparazzi.
